General conservative dentistry
Conservative dentistry is the technic used to treat the oral cavity avoiding the extraction of the damaged tooth.
It is used to restore areas with caries and other conditions, by cleaning and treating de damaged tissues without affecting the rest of the tooth substance, and sealing the treated area with a filling.
Preventive dentistry also is a part of conservative dentistry, and it reduces the need of dental treatments in the medium to long term, by using fissure sealing, simple and complex fillings and endodontic treatments.
